We have an immediate opening for an energetic, motivated and results-oriented Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our Engineering team in Meriden, CT.
At Accel, a Process Engineer is an individual that provides manufacturing with technical support, process expertise, formal training, communication, and insures the utmost attention and compliance to customer outputs (specifications), process inputs (internal process specifications) operating standards, manufacturing initiatives (lean concepts) and safety/environmental requirements.
MAIN FUNCTIONS:
- Carry out all assignments given by the Quality/Engineering Manager
- Implement ACCEL’s Quality Assurance Policies
- Execute ACCEL’s Engineering/Quality procedures and methods
- Abide to ACCEL’s safety and environmental standards
- Monitor all Manufacturing Processes
- Develop manufacturing process sheets, guidelines, and instructions
- Communicate and Participate in daily production and manufacturing meetings
- Support all employees with technical expertise and information
- Generate Product Specifications and maintain Product Nomenclatures
- Master all Quality Control Test Methods and Calibration Procedures
- Serve as technical contact to our Sales Department and Customer Base
- Learn die room recall and preparation techniques
- Learn fork lift operation.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Learn and master Electroplating, Wire Drawing, Bobbin Winding, Stranding, Respooling, and Rod breakdown processes and techniques
- Standardize Manufacturing Process by implementing DOE, CAPAS, Cpk, SPC
- Minimize Scrap through Process Mapping, PFMEA’s,
- Improve Production by utilizing SPEEDS KILLS initiative
- Eliminate Non-conformances (ZERO DEFECTS)
- Maintain all testing equipment under calibration
- Monitor Drawing Solutions on a daily basis
- Develop and Maintain SOP’s applicable to process requirements
- Assist Quality Control inspectors as needed
- Process RMA
- Conduct Internal Audits
- Participate in daily production meetings
- Maintain Quality and Engineering documents and records
- File completed production and test reports
- Clean QC testing areas on a daily basis
- Troubleshoot production and quality issues
- Generate Corrective Actions
- Perform Gauge R&R studies
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have, as a minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic and or Industrial Engineering)
- Strong basic leadership, interpersonal and problem solving skills
- Must be organized, detail oriented, and have the ability to follow written procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and general computer use
- Have the ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Experience in the wire industry is preferred but not required
